Volunteer with Calon FM

We've got some really exciting news to share with you soon.. in order to prepare for it we are recruiting volunteers here at Calon FM.

We have roles that can suit everyone, no matter how much time you can give us on a regular basis.

Presenter

Volunteer Presenters at Calon FM are central to the delivery of our Community Radio service for Wrexham. Simply put, they are the people who present our on-air and pre-recorded shows. As a Volunteer Presenter you'll be (either individually or as part of a group of volunteers) responsible for:

• Planning your show's content e.g. intro, guests, playlist, regular features, listener call ins
• Delivering your show punctually - by turning up to live broadcasts or recording your show on time
• Liasing with guests or co-hosts that are part of your show.
• Treating our studio with respect, using all equipment safely and keeping the studio tidy.
• Adhering to Ofcom rules so that we are never in breach of our license.

Time Commitment: Typically an average of 3 hours per week

Producer

Volunteer Producers at Calon FM are incredibly important to the day-to-day broadcast operation at Calon FM. Radio producers in general are responsible for the content broadcast on shows. You would be involved in:

• Helping volunteers plan their content and help by downloading music for shows
• Generating content for shows and coming up with ideas for presenters to use
• Liasing with guests or co-hosts that are part of a show.
• Treating our studio with respect, using all equipment safely and keeping the studio tidy.
• Helping us to educate people on Ofcom rules so that we are never in breach of our license.

As a producer, you will make sure that shows run as planned and that programmes are being delivered to our audience that are relevant and up to date.
