I want to pay special tribute to the volunteers at the Chirk Community Cupboard in the Parish Hall who do amazing work every week, serving the community. I was grateful to learn more, during a visit on Wednesday 6th October, about the kinds of products which are in high-demand locally, and the ways in which residents support each other by dropping off essential items.
During the visit, I met with Cllr Frank Hemmings, Chairman of Chirk Town Council, and volunteers to discuss the incredible work of the team involved in supporting #Chirk and the wider community.
I wish them every success for the future and I look forward to keeping in touch on their work.
The Chirk Community Cupboard is open every Wednesday from 3pm to 6pm in the Parish Hall. It is supported by FareShare and Neighbourly, and has donations from the Community Allotment and local residents.
We have shouted out the Chirk Community Cupboard on Calon FM Breakfast previously, listen here.
