The Commission Chair visited Wrexham to learn about the challenges facing the Third Sector in North Wales, and to explore ways for the Charity Commission to support the work of Third Sector organisations within Wrexham County Borough.
In addition to meeting with AVOW's Chair of Trustees, Peter Howell, and Chief Officer, Dawn Roberts-McCabe, alongside Chief Officer of Medrwn Môn Siân Purcell, the Commission Chair also visited the Xplore! Science Discovery Centre and Nightingale House Hospice.
AVOW's Chief Officer, Dawn Roberts-McCabe, said:
"Meeting with the Chair of the Commission gave us the unique opportunity to have a candid conversation about the challenges facing charities in North Wales. We discussed many topics including post COVID-19 recovery and the cost-of-living crisis, and their impact on community organisations."
