Heather: So, tell us a little bit about Blood Honey…
Isabella: We're composed of myself and producer/songwriter Alex Davies. We have been working together since late 2019, taking inspiration from artists like Jeff Buckley, John Martyn, PJ Harvey, etc. Originally we started out as co-writers with the intent to write for other artists but realised we liked some of the songs too much to give them away.
H: How would you describe the band's sound?
I: Blood Honey’s sound is clear, honest, and moody, the echoes of two people living in a void. We both lived in the city, both took what they needed and went back home. We’re an example that bands do not have to live in a city.
H: What's the lowdown on the new single?
I: 'Rivers Into Stone', a track about defining yourself and accepting yourself. The track is rooted in 80's pop and neo-soul, with a tight groove. It comes straight in with 80s inspired drums and synth. Isabella's vocals soothes
over the top of the shifting music landscape, drawing the listener into compelling lyrics. Ending with a clear, deeply satisfying 80's retro guitar solo.
H: How was appearing on the Horizons Summer Tour?
I: It was really great! Everyone was very kind and warm while still being professional. Was really fun to plan like for people again even if it was such for a crew and a stray on looker.
H: Is there more for us to look forward to?
I: Yes, we will have another single out next month. We are also looking forward to playing live shows so please do follow us on all our socials to stay updated for that! Don’t forget to follow us on Spotify as well for
when all the new singles drop.
H: Where can people find you online and listen to the new single?
I: You can stream the new single everywhere and you can follow us on all the
social platforms below.
H: Thanks for hanging out!
